Features: Mainly silicon, not commonly used. Some 4 series alloys can be strengthened by heat treatment, but some 4 series alloys cannot be heat-treated.
Typical grade: 4032 Good heat and friction resistance, small coefficient of thermal expansion. Piston, cylinder head. 4043 less solidification shrinkage, with sulfuric acid anodizing treatment of natural gray hair color. Dissolve wiring, building panels.
